Water sports

Kayak around Sea Point
You may not be on the Olympic team but this makes for a great adventure. Departing from the Three Anchor bay beach under the Sea Point Promenade and takes you through along the coast towards the V&A Waterfront.
Fancy a picnic?
Less than an hour’s drive from the city centre, the large, glistening Silvermine reservoir is hugely popular for a leisure swim and picnics. It’s also the starting point for various hikes, the most popular of which are Elephant’s Eye Cave, Silvermine Ridge, and Sentinel View.

This vintage-inspired sailboat sets sail from the V&A Waterfront and heads out along the Atlantic Ocean is ideal for families, as it departs and returns while it’s still light, and offers spectacular mountain and stadium views.
Penguin Watching
Boulders Beach is 40 minutes away from Cape Town and is home to a penguin colony and is also one of the very few places in the world where you can cross off swimming penguins. The colony is protected under the South Africa National Parks and will require a conservation fee to gain access. Once inside, you can frolic, swim, and watch them paddle.
