Cresta Marakanelo Limited Partners with Sesigo and Babereki SACCOs
Gaborone, Botswana — Cresta Marakanelo Limited (CML), one of Botswana’s leading hospitality brands, has announced a strategic partnership with Sesigo SACCOs and Babereki SACCOs, two of the country’s largest and most respected Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies. The partnership is designed to offer the over 3,000 SACCOs members access to exclusive travel, accommodation, and lifestyle benefits through the Cresta Loyalty Card Programme, enhancing domestic tourism and broadening access to hospitality services among Botswana’s working professionals.
Under the terms of the partnership, SACCO members from both Sesigo and Babereki will be eligible to purchase the Cresta Loyalty Card at preferential rates—P300 for new sign-ups (reduced from P400) and P200 for renewals (reduced from P300). Cardholders will enjoy a 20% discount on weekday accommodation from Monday to Thursday and a 40% discount on weekend stays from Friday to Sunday. These discounts are valid across all Cresta Hotels properties in Botswana, with the exception of Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa, and are subject to room availability.
Additional benefits include exclusive discounts on food and beverage purchases. Members dining in pairs will receive a 10% discount, while groups of three to ten guests will enjoy a 15% discount when dining at any Cresta-operated restaurant. To access these benefits, SACCO members must present a valid Sesigo or Babereki SACCO membership card at the time of check-in or point of purchase.
The initiative is a key pillar of CML’s “See Botswana Differently” campaign, which seeks to promote local tourism by encouraging Batswana to explore the country through affordable, high-quality hospitality experiences. It also supports CML’s wider strategic vision to create mutually beneficial relationships with citizen-focused institutions that promote financial inclusion and community empowerment.
Speaking on behalf of CML, Ms. Lorato P. Tebogo, Head of Marketing and Communications, described the partnership as a progressive step toward deeper local market engagement. “By partnering with both Sesigo and Babereki SACCOs, we are unlocking greater access to travel for Batswana while adding tangible value to the SACCO member experience. We are proud to extend the Cresta offering to a broader community of citizens who contribute meaningfully to Botswana’s economic landscape.”
Ms. Sametsi Game Shumba, CEO of Sesigo SACCOs, emphasized the long-term value of the collaboration. “This partnership aligns with our goal to deliver holistic member benefits that go beyond financial services. It brings wellness, exploration, and national pride into the SACCO member journey.”
Mr. Powell Habana, Chief Executive Officer of Babereki SACCOs, welcomed the partnership as a timely and innovative lifestyle solution for members. “Babereki SACCOs is proud to join hands with Cresta Hotels in enhancing our member value proposition. Travel, relaxation, and connection are part of financial wellness, and this partnership offers our members access to experiences that support a balanced, fulfilling life.”
With a national footprint including hotels in Gaborone, Francistown, Maun, Kasane, Selebi-Phikwe, Mahalapye, Jwaneng, and Palapye, Cresta Hotels is uniquely positioned to serve SACCO members across the country. The company will also engage SACCO members directly through events, activations, and digital platforms to increase awareness and uptake of the programme. The agreement is valid for an initial period of one year and may be extended or renewed upon mutual agreement by the parties.
