In an affirmation of its dedication to supporting the Miss Botswana pageant, Cresta Marakanelo Limited (CML), the operating company for the 11 Cresta Hotels in Botswana and a prominent figure in the tourism and hospitality industry, has reiterated its support for the Miss Botswana pageant. This strategic alliance reflects CML's ongoing commitment to championing the empowerment and recognition of young women in the country.

Speaking at the Miss Botswana press conference hosted by Cresta Lodge Gaborone, Lorato Tebogo, Head of Marketing and Communications at Cresta Marakanelo Limited, expressed the company's enthusiasm for its continued involvement in the prestigious event. "We have a long-standing partnership with Miss Botswana, and there is a clear strategic alignment between ourselves and the institution. 2024 is a big year for us as we've recently launched our 'See Botswana Differently' with Cresta Hotels Global Campaign. Through this campaign, we are prepared to showcase our country to the world, ready to host Miss World in Botswana, and will continue our partnership with platforms such as Miss Botswana to showcase the beauty of Botswana," stated Tebogo.

This collaboration is not new for Cresta Hotels, having previously joined forces with the Miss Botswana organizing team. In the previous edition, Cresta Lodge hosted the reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska, during her visit to Botswana.

In 2023, Cresta Hotels took a step further by sponsoring the reigning Miss Botswana, Lesego Chombo, in her community outreach project - The Genesis Project. The sponsorship included providing accommodation for Lesego Chombo and the Miss Botswana team during her outreach program to the various communities where the project was undertaken. This initiative aligns seamlessly with Cresta Hotels' objectives, making a positive impact in the communities in which it operates, through partnerships with local change-makers and influencers.

Lorato Tebogo emphasized the significance of Cresta Hotels' involvement in community outreach projects. "As the hotel chain with the largest geographical footprint in Botswana, we are proud to have partnered with Lesego Chombo for her Genesis Project, and we are excited about the impact and recognition that the project has garnered on the world stage. In addition to the various community projects the company undertakes in the various localities in which it operates, the collaboration with Miss Botswana allows us to continue contributing meaningfully to outreach programs and support causes that make a difference in the lives of Batswana," Tebogo added.
